“Portrait of Giovanni Arnolfini and his wife” is a painting by flemish artist Jan Van Eyck. Created in 1434, depicts the wealthy merchant Giovanni Arnolfini and his wife, Giovanna Cenami, that settle and prosper in the city of Bruges ( Belgium) between 1420 and 1472. It was the first time in the history of art that a reflexion in the mirror was painted. It also describes with microscopic detail ten scenes of the passion of Christ in the mirror’s frameas well as two more people plus furniture etc. Which could be managed by using special brushes.
The picture is from 1842 at The National Gallery of London after misteriously disappearing in 1813 from the Royal Palace in Madrid.
- Our design of this skirt is a print of the painting at the front, and black color at the rear. Inside, a bordeaux color lining. The weist is slightly elastic. It’s composition is polyester and elastan.
- For it’s care it is recommended to wash turned inside out in cold water. If needed, iron at medium temperature.
